We stock and install linear welding and fabrication work for Linear gate operators in Miami, typically priced between $180 and $520 depending on whether we’re repairing a cracked gate bracket, fabricating a new mounting plate, or rebuilding a hinge assembly that’s been pushed past its limit. In many cases we can weld and reinforce the failed component same-day, so your gate is back on its track before the afternoon rain rolls through.

The call usually starts the same way. A homeowner in Coral Gables or Palmetto Bay notices the gate drags on one side, or it stopped closing square, or a bracket cracked where the Linear arm connects to the gate leaf. What they don’t know yet is whether the metal gave out, the welds failed, or the operator’s force setting was cranked too high and caused the damage in the first place. That’s the part we figure out before anything gets touched.
We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Linear the manufacturer. What we do is match the right fabrication and repair work to your specific Linear operator and gate setup, and quote you a written price before the first weld goes down.
Which Linear Models This Applies To
Linear’s swing and slide gate operators – the LRA and LSO swing-arm models, the SL and SLD slide operators, and the newer APeX motor line – all depend on metal brackets, hinge plates, and mounting hardware that carry real load every time the gate cycles. In Miami, that hardware works against salt air, daily heat cycles, and in some neighborhoods, gate posts that shift slightly every wet season. The welding work we do on Linear systems almost always involves one of a few specific failure points: the gate-to-operator bracket, the hinge weld at the post or gate frame, the gate frame itself at stress corners, or the operator mounting plate where the Linear arm or chain anchors to the pad or post.
Identifying the exact Linear model matters, because the bracket geometry differs between a swing-arm LRA and a linear screw-drive LSO. Look on the operator housing for the Linear model label, which is usually on the underside or the back face. If that label has faded in the Miami sun, we can identify the unit by the arm type, the operator housing shape, and the control board layout. For fabrication work we also measure the gate leaf thickness, the hinge-to-hinge distance, and the post material before we quote. Aftermarket steel is fine for most bracket and plate work; the mounting geometry has to be right, not just the bolt pattern. We’ve seen one-size-fits-all brackets drilled to force a fit, and that’s where the next crack starts.

Signs Your Linear Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags at the latch end and scrapes the ground or the track. This is almost always a hinge failure or a cracked gate frame at the hinge stile, not an operator problem. The Linear motor keeps working while the metal around it gives way.
- The operator arm bracket wobbles visibly when the gate moves. A working bracket should be rigid. If the weld or the bolts have worked loose, the arm and operator take side-load they were never designed for.
- You find fresh rust tracks or cracks along a weld line, especially where the gate frame meets a stress point. Salt air accelerates rust through any paint that was scratched during the original install. A hairline crack this month is a snapped gate leaf after the next storm.
- The gate closes past the stop or bangs against the post and rebounds. This often means the stop bracket has slid or its mount is cracked, and the Linear limit switch is working hard but the hardware isn’t where it belongs anymore.
- You hear a metallic click or pop on each cycle, always from the same spot. That’s metal flexing against metal – usually a cracked weld opening and closing under load. It will not heal itself, and every cycle widens the crack.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Miami, expect most Linear-specific welding and fabrication repairs to fall between $180 and $520 installed. At the low end you’re looking at a simple crack repair on a hinge or bracket, ground out, re-welded, and reinforced with a steel fish plate. In the middle range is a new gate hinge or bracket fabricated and fitted to your existing Linear setup. At the higher end we’re rebuilding a gate frame corner, fabricating a new mounting plate from scratch, or reinforcing a gate leaf that’s rusted thin from the inside. You’ll get the exact price in writing – broken out by part, labor, and time – before we start, and that number doesn’t move unless you ask us to do more work than we quoted. Every weld is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the fabrication fails, the return visit is free.
DIY or Call Us?
If you want to check a few things yourself before calling, you can safely do this: watch the gate run one cycle and mark where the sound or the sag shows up, check for visible cracks or rust stains around the hinges and the operator bracket, and take photos with your phone from a few angles. Do not attempt welding on a gate while the Linear operator is still live. The controls can trigger without warning if a limit switch or safety sensor is shorted, and a moving gate will crush whatever is between the leaf and the post. Even with the power disconnected, a loaded gate leaf can shift when you cut or weld a stressed member. This is one place where the stakes are high enough that the right call is a trained tech with a proper jack stand under the leaf. Know what’s broken before we touch it. Fix it once.
If you’re seeing metal fatigue on your gate, call us at (850) 495-7564 and we’ll get eyes on it fast. You’ll get a written quote before the work starts, and a name and photo of your tech before they arrive – so you know exactly who’s coming through your gate.
FAQs
With proper prep and a good paint or cold-galv coating over the weld, a reinforced gate bracket or hinge weld on a Linear system in Miami typically lasts 8 to 12 years before the salt air starts working on it again. We weld, clean, and coat every repair, which is why our brackets outlast the original installs. Call (850) 495-7564 for an inspection and we’ll tell you honestly what you’re working with.
Often yes – if the crack is on a straight section of the bracket, we grind it out, weld it, and add a steel reinforcement plate so the repaired section is stronger than new. If the crack runs through a bolt hole or the bracket is deformed, we fabricate and fit a new one. Call (850) 495-7564 and we’ll give you the real answer based on what we find, along with a free estimate.
Most fabrication and welding repairs on Linear operators take 2 to 4 hours on site, including the time to cool the welds, coat them, and run the gate through a full cycle test. Larger frame rebuilds can take most of a day. Call (850) 495-7564 and we’ll schedule a time and give you the written price before anything gets hot.
We carry steel stock for common bracket and plate fabrication, and our trucks are loaded with Linear-compatible hardware plus parts for LiftMaster, Ghost Controls, and Mighty Mule systems. For a custom bracket or plate we measure on site and often fabricate same-day. If your Linear model needs a specific part we don’t carry, we tell you up front and order it – no surprises. Call (850) 495-7564 to check availability for your gate.
