Get your free estimateElite Access Control Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If you have an Elite gate opener and the access control system has failed, we can replace it. Our typical installed price for Elite-compatible access control in Miami falls between $340 and $890, depending on whether you need a simple keypad swap or a full system with telephone entry and vehicle detection loops. Most owners discover the failure the hard way: a keypad that takes five presses to register, a remote that opens the neighbor’s gate but not yours, or a phone entry system that rings endlessly while delivery drivers honk at the street.

We keep Elite access control parts on the truck: receiver boards, keypads, antenna kits, and the wiring harnesses that Miami’s salt air chews through faster than anywhere else in Florida. You won’t wait a week for a part to arrive from a distributor.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite builds several access control lines, and the part needs to match your specific model. The most common systems we service in Miami are the Elite Miracle-One, the Pro series slide and swing openers, and the Elite entry gate systems running CSW200 or equivalent receiver architecture. The compatibility gotcha owners run into: Elite changed their receiver frequency on certain production runs after 2016, so a remote or keypad from a pre-2016 unit often won’t talk to a newer board and vice versa. We match the board revision, not just the model name.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Elite specifically: we stock Elite factory parts when the board is current and available, but for discontinued receiver modules we carry quality aftermarket equivalents that match the original frequency and output. The honest reality is that some Elite OEM boards for older Miracle-One units are no longer manufactured. You can’t buy them new anywhere. In those cases, a properly-spec’d aftermarket receiver paired with a compatible keypad is the only path that keeps your gate working without replacing the whole opener, and we’ve done enough of those conversions in Coral Gables and Pinecrest to know exactly which combinations hold up in a Miami summer.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Elite Access Control Installation Is Failing
- Keypad requires repeated presses or has dead buttons. The membrane contacts inside the keypad corrode from humidity and salt exposure. We see this constantly in Miami, especially on gates within two miles of the coast. The keypad isn’t dirty; the internal traces are failing.
- Remote works intermittently or only from very close range. This usually means the receiver’s antenna or the receiver board itself is degrading. Antennas on Elite units mounted in direct Miami sun crack and let moisture into the coax, which quietly kills range over a few months.
- Telephone entry system rings but won’t open the gate. The entry unit is dialing fine, but the relay that triggers the gate motor has failed. It’s a small part, but it strands delivery drivers and guests outside until replaced.
- A second remote opens the gate but the first one stopped working. If one transmitter still works, the receiver is fine and the dead remote is the problem. Worth verifying before you pay anyone to replace a board that isn’t broken.
- Gate opens on its own at random times. This is almost always signal interference or a failing receiver that’s picking up stray RF from a nearby tower, marina radio, or another opener. Miami’s RF environment is crowded, and older Elite receivers without narrowband filtering are especially vulnerable.

- Keypad replacement (standalone): $180 to $320 installed, including the part, wiring check, and programming to your existing receiver.

- Full access control system with telephone entry: $620 to $890 installed, including the entry unit, power supply, relay wiring, and testing with your gate motor and safety loops.
- Emergency or after-hours call-out: Add $75 to $150, depending on time and distance from our current job site.
Every quote is written down and handed to you before work begins. That’s what Cole Rafferty put in place at Warden Gate Repair Miami years ago, and it hasn’t changed: the price on paper is the price on the invoice. No miscellaneous line items at the end, no “while we were here we noticed” upcharges. The work itself carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the repair or replacement fails within a year, we come back and fix it free.
DIY or Call Us?
Access control wiring runs at low voltage, usually 12 or 24 volts DC, so the shock risk is minimal. That’s the good news. The bad news is that a wrong connection can send voltage back into your Elite gate motor’s control board and fry a $400 component in half a second. This is not a high-tension spring situation; it’s a “one crossed wire equals a new control board” situation. We see this once or twice a month in Miami: a homeowner watches a video, repurposes a phone entry unit, and burns the motor board.
What you can safely do: check that breakers are on, look for obvious chewed wires (iguanas love low-voltage insulation, and Miami has plenty of both), and verify that your working remote still triggers the gate. Beyond that, call us at (850) 495-7564 and we’ll have a tech out with the right part already on the truck.
FAQs
A straight keypad or receiver board swap takes 45 to 90 minutes. A full telephone entry system install runs two to three hours, including programming and testing all remotes and safety edges. We quote a time window when you book and we hold to it.
Sometimes. If it’s a corroded wire terminal, a cracked antenna, or a relay that can be de-soldered and replaced, repair makes sense. If the board shows burned traces or the keypad membrane is gone, replacement is cheaper than chasing the failure. We’ll show you the part and explain what we’re seeing before we touch anything, in keeping with Cole’s rule: know what’s broken before we touch it, fix it once.
We run our trucks in Miami stocked with the Elite receiver boards, keypads, antennas, and relays that fail most often out here. For very old Elite Miracle-One boards that are discontinued, we carry aftermarket equivalents that we’ve tested on local jobs. If your exact part isn’t on the truck, we tell you before dispatch and get it ordered same day from our suppliers in South Florida.
That depends on the frequency and revision of your current receiver. On most Miami Elite systems, yes, we can match the replacement to your existing remotes. If your receiver is pre-2016 and no compatible board is available, we’ll quote you the receiver-plus-remote package so everything works together, and we’ll explain the cost difference before ordering anything.
No. We’re an independent gate and opener service company, authorized and trained on nine major brands including Elite, LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls. We stock and install Elite-compatible parts, but we don’t speak for the manufacturer.
If your Elite access control has failed and you want a written price before anyone starts cutting wires, call (850) 495-7564. Live person, 24/7, no chatbot. We’ll send a photo-badged technician with the part, the price, and the Threshold Standard behind every visit.
