We’re a small crew, and that’s on purpose. Every technician who shows up at your gate in Miami has been background-checked, identity-verified, and photo-badged under the Threshold Standard. You’ll know who’s coming before they arrive, because we send a name and a photo ahead of every visit. What unites us is simple: we fix gates, we fix them once, and we put it in writing. Cole Rafferty runs the shop, but the people below are the ones who turn the wrenches, answer the late-night calls, and make sure your gate actually works when you pull up to it.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Cole Rafferty, Owner
Cole has been fixing gates in Florida since 2008, when he started with a truck, a multimeter, and a stubborn FAAC swing operator that no one else could diagnose. He still takes service calls himself most weeks, which means he hears directly from customers what’s failing and why. Cole holds factory training across LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. He’s the one who signs every 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a repair fails within a year, the return visit is free. Cole doesn’t delegate that decision. He makes it, in writing, on every single job.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Warden Gate Repair Miami for nine years, and before that he spent six years doing commercial access control along the warehouse corridor near Medley and Hialeah. He’s our go-to for slide gate motor replacements and for the kind of intermittent electrical fault that only shows up when it rains. Marcus is certified on LiftMaster and DoorKing systems and handles most of our two-man heavy gate jobs. Outside of work, he rebuilds old Honda motorcycles in his garage and will absolutely talk your ear off about carburetors if you let him.
Elena R., Senior Installer
Elena came to us from a welding and fabrication background, which matters more than you’d think when a gate post has rusted through at the base and the whole leaf is sagging. She’s our specialist for swing gate hinge replacement, post repair, and anything that involves getting steel to line up true. Elena carries factory certification on FAAC and Viking operators and has a reputation for leaving a job site cleaner than she found it. She keeps a small sketchbook in her truck and draws diagrams for customers so they can see exactly what failed and what we’re doing about it.
Derrick J., Service Coordinator
Derrick is the voice on the phone at two in the morning when your gate motor is humming but won’t open and you’re stuck inside your own driveway. He’s been managing dispatch and parts for threshold-group gate teams since 2015 and knows the Miami parts suppliers well enough to source a DoorKing limit switch same-day when it matters. Derrick sends every customer the technician’s name and photo before the visit, and he’s the one who walks you through the written price before any work begins. He grew up in Kendall and still gets unreasonably competitive about cafecito from his neighborhood ventanita.
Sam V., Apprentice Technician
Sam joined us two years ago after finishing a low-voltage systems program at a trade school in Doral. He’s in the truck with Marcus or Elena most days, learning the difference between a motor that needs a capacitor and a motor that needs to be replaced. Sam handles a lot of our remote control programming, photo eye alignment, and safety edge testing under supervision. He’s diligent about the things customers don’t see: wire terminations, strain relief on cables, torque specs on mounting bolts. Sam’s the newest, which means he’s the one who gets sent to crawl under the gate when the rest of us don’t want to.
One Standard, Every Job
The Threshold Standard isn’t a slogan we hang on a wall. It’s the operating rule for every person listed on this page. Before any visit, you get a name and a photo. When the tech arrives, they show a photo ID badge at the door. Before any repair begins, you get a written price. And after the job is done, you get the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if that repair fails within a year, we come back free. That applies to a capacitor swap in Coral Gables the same as it does to a full Viking operator replacement in North Miami. The crew may be local to Miami, but the standard is the same one the whole Threshold Group family enforces across every location. A warden is trusted to watch over a place and keep it secure. That’s the whole idea behind the name, and it’s the job each of us signed up for when we put on the badge.
